PURPOSE: To improve the operation rate of a pipe bender by conducting the retention of a core metal stick by means of either one of the 1st core metal chuck and the 2nd core metal chuck, furnishing a pipe from the old pipe push- pressing side which is the opposite side of a bending portion.

CONSTITUTION: The 1st core metal chuck 56, a booster device 57, the 2nd core metal chuck 58 and a bending portion 59 are provided on a base stand 55, and at the same time a core metal stick is arranged at a processing axis center X-X. And a pipe W is inserted from the upstream part of the core metal stick by releasing the retention of the core metal stick that is by means of the 1st core metal chuck 56, and the pipe W is retained by means of the device 57, and movement to the bending portion 59 side is made, and the core metal stick is retained by means of the 1st chuck 56. Afterwards, the pipe W is subjected to bending processing at the bending portion 59 by releasing the retention of the core metal stick that is by means of the 2nd core metal chuck 58. As a result, an operation rate can be improved as it becomes unnecessary to stop a pipe bender 4 at the time of pipe W furnishing and taking out.
