To provide a pipe cleaning method capable of preventing a spray nozzle from coming off a pipe when pulling out a cleaning hose even while using a self-propelling spray nozzle.
The method for cleaning a pipe 30 includes: a nozzle-inserting step of inserting a spray nozzle 20 into the pipe 30; a nozzle-advancing step of advancing the spray nozzle 20 by a reaction force generating when spraying a cleaning water backward; and a nozzle-retreating step of retreating a cleaning hose 10 by pulling backward. A cleaning hose support 61 with a cleaning hose-guiding hole 61a having a width larger than the outer diameter of the cleaning hose 10 but smaller than the outer diameter of the spray nozzle 20 is installed near an opening 31 of the pipe 30, and the cleaning hose 10 is inserted into the cleaning hose-guiding hole 61a in the hose support 61. Thereby, the spray nozzle 20 is composed so as to be hooked on the guiding hole 61a even if the cleaning hose 10 is excessively pulled backward in the nozzle-retreating step.
