Title:
PIPE COUPLING CAPABLE OF BEING TIGHTENED
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3047901
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture a pipe coupling having high strength and flexural rigidity by arranging an elastomer gasket on an inner face of a casing in which a pair of free ends are connected by a tightening screw and arranging a pair of rings provided with a tooth on an inner peripheral face.
SOLUTION: An outer thin steel plate casing 1 bent slightly than a complete ring is provided, and a free end of the casing 1 is bent backward on the outside in the radial direction and is formed as a loop 4. Bolts 5, 6 are inserted into each loop 4, and a tightening screw 9 provided so as to connect these bolts 5, 6 in the transverse direction is inserted into a slot formed in each loop 4 and is screw-fitted in a screw hole formed in the direction of diameter in each bolt 5, 6 to give tightening force to the casing 1 by tightening it. An elastomer gasket 15 is arranged in such casing 1, and a pair of rings 12 provided with a tooth 13 and made of a metallic belt plate are arranged on an inner peripheral face.
