Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a pipe cutter operate smoothly, have less mechanical abrasion, have good durability and small in size.
SOLUTION: Besides a first pinion 11, a second pinion 15 is arranged in a first case 1, while the rotation of a main gear 7 is transmitted to a cam fitted gear 8, which includes a cam 10 in its interior, through the second pinion 15 and the gear 7 and the gear 8 are simultaneously rotated. A main holder 17, which includes a cutter blade 18 and a bearing 20, is fitted to the flat part 7b of the main gear 7 in a freely rotatable manner and the cam fitted gear 8 is relatively rotated one time in respect to the main gear 7 by providing the cam fitted gear 8 with one gear tooth less than the number of gear teeth on the main gear 7 and making the main gear 7 rotate by the number equivalent to its number of gear teeth. The cam fitted gear 8 rotates one revolution relative to the main gear. At that time, a bearing 20 of the main holder 17 rolls around the cam surface of the cam 10 one time, which causes the cutter blade 18 to move toward the center of the device and cut a to-be-cut pipe 21 arranged in the center.
