PURPOSE: To protect a pipe against damage by arranging a rotary cutting edge and a support roller within an inner frame for holding the external surface of a pipe as a workpiece, and turning an outer frame on the external surface of the inner frame for pipe cutting.
CONSTITUTION: A pipe cutter 1 mainly comprises an outer frame 2 of ring shape and an inner frame 3 of horse shoe shape, and a rotary cutting edge 20 and support rollers 21 and 22 are arranged within the inner frame 3. In cutting a pipe 48 as a workpiece, a pin 6 is first removed for expanding the inner frame 3 and the pipe 48 is inserted therein. Then, the external surface 48a of the pipe 48 is held by the rotary cutting edge 20 and the support rollers 21 and 22, thereby fixing the inner frame 3. And a handle 12 is operated to turn the outer frame 2 in 'C' and 'D' directions alternately, thereby cutting the pipe 48. According to the aforesaid constitution, the pipe 48 becomes free from unnecessary damage and cutting operation becomes easy.
