PURPOSE: To obtain a cutting apparatus which is light-weighted and easily handled by providing a pipe cutting apparatus comprising a cutting means, a fixing means for fixing the cutting apparatus to a designated position of a pipe, a holding means for holding the cutting means, and a driving means for rotating the holding means.

CONSTITUTION: A pipe cutting apparatus comprises a nozzle 3 for cutting a pipe steel A, a clamping device 2 for substantially aligning the axis of a cutting apparatus B with the axis of the pipe steel A and fixing the apparatus, a supporting device 9 for holding a nozzle 3, which is capable of turning on the axis of the cutting apparatus B, and a driving device for rotating the supporting device 9. The cutting apparatus B is moved to a position corresponding to a preset cutting position of the pipe steel A, the apparatus is fixed by the clamping device 2, with the axis of the cutting apparatus B substantially aligned with the axis of the pipe steel A, the supporting device 9 holding the nozzle 3 is turned on the axis of the cutting apparatus B by the driving means 6, and the nozzle 3 is operated to cut the pipe steel A.
