Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the impact resistance and cutting efficiency of a cutting blade for cutting metallic material by forming the basic shape of a cutting edge into V-shape, setting this V-shape angle within a specific range, and chamfering both side faces in the thickness direction of the cutting blade.
CONSTITUTION: In a cutting blade 1 for cutting metallic material, the basic shape of a cutting edge 2 is formed into V-shape, and the V-shape angle 3 of the cutting edge 2 is set within a range of 45-90°. The cutting edge 2 in the V-shape part 3 is formed into a straight line and/or concave curve, and both side faces in the thickness direction of the cutting blade 1 are chamfered or rounded (4). The impact resistance of the cutting blade 1 is thereby improved, and the V-shape angle 3 is set acuter by the correlation with the quantity of chamfer so as to improve the cutting efficiency of the cutting edge 2. As the coating layer of the cutting blade 1, hard material formed of the solid solution or the like of a boron carbide or a carbide of Al or periodic table 4a group transition metal is laminated in the thickness of 0.2-20μ so as to further reduce wear.
