To provide a pipe cutting device and method, capable of cutting a pipe and chamfering the pipe to the prescribed depth regardless of thickness of the pipe as well as chamfering the outside of a pipe cut surface positioned on both the sides of the cut position.
A cutting bite 3 which advances to an external surface of the pipe 1 rotating around a center line P and a chamfering bite 4 which interlocks and advances are used to perform chamfering by pressing the chamfering bite 4 against both edges of an annular groove 1a which is cut at an external surface of the pipe by the cutting bite 3 before cutting of the pipe 1 by the advance of the cutting bite 3 is completed, and the chamfering bite 4 is stopped to advance the cutting bite 3 only, thus completing cutting of the pipe 1.
