Title:
PIPE CUTTING TOOL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2001009629
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a pipe cutting tool to prevent the generation of chips during cutting of a pipe, resulting in shortening of a time during maintenance and inspection of a heat-exchanger, improve reliability, and further perform precise cutting of a pipe.

A pipe cutting tool 10 to cut a pipe 1 from an inner surface toward an outer surface comprises a spindle 20 inserted in the pipe 1 and rotatable around the same axis 20 as the axis 1A of the pipe, a cutter shaft 30 inserted in the spindle 20 and rotatable around an axis 30A eccentric from the axis 20A of the spindle, and a cutter wheel 40 pivotally supported at the tip part of the cutter shaft 30 protruded from the tip part of the spindle 20 and rotatable around an axis 40A (a pin 35) paralleling the axis 30A of the cutter shaft. By rotating the cutter shaft 30 around the axis 30A of the cutter shaft, the cutter wheel 40 is pressed against the inner surface of the pipe 1. By effecting planetary movement of the cutter wheel 40 around the axis 1A, plastic deformation occurs to the pipe 1 and the pipe 1 is cut from the inner surface toward the outer surface.
