PURPOSE: To cut a rib with good efficiency, by putting a rotary cutter to an internal face rib with a cutting part being positioned inside a pipe end, performing the profile control of the cutter while detecting the internal face rib apex face by a profile sensor and also turning a turning board.
CONSTITUTION: The column 40 located on a roller is positioned and clamped with its feeding until a pipe end cutting part comes to the place of a cutter 13 to rotate the cutter 13. The cutter 13 and a stylus 21 are then moved by a cylinder 15 until the stylus 21 is brought into contact with the rib 41 of the column 40 and the turning of a turning board 6 is started. At this time cutting is performed by moving the cutter 13 via a servo mechanism corresponding to the contact state of the stylus 21 with the rib 41 and the internal face rib 41 can completely be cut over the whole periphery by turning the turning board 6 at about 365°. In this case the cutting depth of the cutter 13 is determined by 1/2 quantity of the difference in the diameters of the cutter 13 and stylus 21 and the rib 41 can be cut by this part.
