To provide a pipe foundation for use as a retaining wall unit, etc., of a compost shed, a cattle shed (cowhouse, pig house, chicken house, etc.), a warehouse for agricultural implements, etc., which can be readily constructed in a short construction period.
According to the pipe foundation, four pipe insertion holes 3 are formed in a wall portion 2b of a main body 2 having an L-shaped cross section, in the vertical direction, and four pipe receiving holes 5 are formed in a bottom plate 2a of the main body 2 in a manner facing to the respective pipe insertion holes 3. In construction of the compost shed, etc., the pipe foundations 1 in a necessary number are connected together in a depth direction to construct the right and left retaining walls in a manner facing to each other, and then a plurality of skeletal pipes are stretched astride the retaining walls. To this end, a lower end of each skeletal pipe is inserted into the pipe insertion hole 3, and then dropped into the pipe receiving hole 5. Therefore, the skeletal pipe is supported at two points, i.e., the pipe insertion hole 3 and the pipe receiving hole 5, and fixed to the main body 2. Alternatively, the main body 2 may have an inverted T shape in cross section, which leads to enhanced stability of the foundation in case of a collision of a vehicle thereon.
