To lay a pipeline having earthquake-resistant pipe joints, using jacking method.

The pipe joint is so formed that pipes are interconnected by inserting a sealing rubber ring 4 between the inner surface of a socket 3 and the outer surface of a spigot 2 inserted into the socket 3. A welding protrusion 10 which is high enough to abut the open end 3b of the socket is formed on the outer surface of the spigot 2 and in a circumferential position which corresponds to the open end 3b of the socket. The jacking force of the pipes is transmitted from the spigot 2 to the open end 3b of the socket via the welding protrusion 10.
