To improve the workability and water-tightness of a pipe joint which can be connected only by inserting a connecting pipe by preventing a sealing member inserted for water-tightness between the connecting pipe and the pipe joint from turning up when the connecting pipe is inserted.
The pipe joint comprises a pipe joint body 1 with a guiding part 8 for allowing a resinous connecting pipe 16 to be fitted thereover, a cap nut 11 screwed into the joint body 1, and a ring 15 placed between the cap nut 11 and a guiding part 8. The guiding part 8 of the pipe joint body 1 has a slot 9 formed on the outer surface thereof, and the annular sealing member 10 closely contacting the inner peripheral surface of the connecting pipe 16 is inserted into the slot 9. The cross section of the sealing member 10 is formed of a base 10a closely contacting the peripheral surface of the slot 9, a swelling part 10b formed so as to protrude out of the slot 9 over the outer periphery and closely contacting the inner peripheral surface of the connecting pipe 16, and a shaft part 10d connecting the base 10a and the swelling part 10b. A space 10e is formed between the base 10a and the swelling part 10d to allow the swelling part 10d to be deformed elastically.
