To reliably fix pipes, even steel pipes including stainless ones, under sufficient continuous bite.
A pipe joint comprises a joint body 2 having seal grooves 7 in the opening ends 20 of its bore 6 and externally threaded portions 9 over its outer periphery at both ends, annular locking members 3 fitted around pipes 5 to be connected to each other, cap nuts 4 meshing with the externally threaded portions 9 of the joint body 2, and clamping rings 30 arranged inside the cap nuts 4 to press the locking members 3 toward the middle of the joint body 2. The locking member 3 is formed in its bore with plural projected bite claws. The clamping ring 30 is formed on its inner periphery with a pressure contact face 31 tapered toward the head of the associated cap nut 4 so as to press the locking member 3 radially inward and thus bring the bite claws into pressure contact with the associated pipe 5.
