PURPOSE: To obtain a stabilized rotation on a pipe in a pipe rotating device used for the welding work etc. of a pipe by tightening a pipe with a slide belt hanged on the outer periphery of the pipe placed on a pipe support part, and rotating the belt while pressing it to the pipe support part.

CONSTITUTION: A pipe support body 1 is equipped with a pipe support part 2 supporting a pipe A rotatably and a driving part 3 rotating this pipe support part 2, which pipe support part 2 being composed of the rollers 7, 8 arranged on a machine frame 4. The driving part 3 is composed of a motor 13 equipped with a non-stage transmission mechanism. A slide belt 16 is spread so as to encircle the outer periphery of the pipe A supported on the pipe support part 2. One end of the slide belt 16 is fixed to a fixing part 17 while the other end is fitted to a tightening body. By operating this tightening body 18 the slide belt 16 tightens the pipe A to press it to the pipe support part 2. Since the pipe A is rotated by the driving part 3 in this state, a stabilised rotation is obtained even under the adverse conditions of the bent, etc., of the pipe shaft.
