To provide a piping valve operating method capable of turning a piping valve by a ratchet wrench of a regular standard even when the outer shape of a torque receiving part of a shaft of the piping valve is special.
The operating method of a piping valve 22 for opening/closing a stop valve mounted on a fore end of a shaft 26 by the turn of the shaft 26 includes a torque transmission nut fitting step of fitting a torque transmission nut 16 having a hole part 16a to be adapted to the outer shape of the torque receiving part 26a and having an outer shape to be turned by a ratchet wrench 20 of the regular standard to a torque receiving part 26a if the shape of the torque receiving part 26a formed on the shaft 26 is not adapted to the shape of a socket 20a of a ratchet handle 20 of the regular standard and the torque receiving part cannot be turned, and a shaft turning step of turning the shaft 26 by fitting the socket 20a of the ratchet wrench 20 of the regular standard to the torque transmission nut 16 after fitting the torque transmission nut 16 to the torque receiving part 26a.
