PURPOSE: To provide a piston-abrasion-proof ring for engine, by which cooling function of a piston ring groove is sufficiently provided, and which does not cause manufacturing defect by reducing the thickness of a barrel annular part as thin as possible.

CONSTITUTION: A barrel annular part 3 for recycling a cooling agent is formed out of a molding body 4 of the cross section of the letter U, separately beside an abrasive-proof ring main body part 2 having a piston ring groove 1, and the abrasion-proof ring main body part 2 is formed out of a piston 6 component material, for example, of an abrasive-proof cast Ni-resist material, rather than an aluminum alloy, at high temperature. The molding body 4 is formed out of stainless steel, and a spigot-like fitting part 5 is provided around an inner circumferential surface 2a which is an end part to be connected to the molding body 4, of the abrasive-proof ring main body part 2 in the circumferential direction, and the molding body 4 is fitted into the fitting part 5, and is fixed by arc welding and so on.
