Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston assembly having a seal ring having a C-shaped cross section and only receiving a slight mechanical load even if it is used under a condition of a temperature of approximate 120°C and a pressure of approximate 100 Pa (10 bar).
SOLUTION: The piston assembly comprises a support (1); and the seal ring (2) having at least one seal lip (3) and the support (1) and the seal ring (2) are bonded. The seal ring (2) has a substantially C-shaped cross section and a groove (5) axially opened toward a space (4) to be closed. The support (1) has a support projection (6) radially extending and supporting the seal ring (2) and the support projection (6) has a radial border (7). This border (7) and an assumed curve surface (11) extending in parallel to a shaft (9) of the piston and passing through a center (12) in a radial direction of the groove (5) are positioned at the same position in the radial direction.
