Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent careless fluid leakage passing through the piston of a buffer even receiving extremely high shock load or high operating temperature.
CONSTITUTION: An annular groove 60 is arranged in the peripheral surface of the piston 14 of a buffer. One of side walls of the groove 60 has a slant surface making an obtuse angle with a bottom wall, and the other thereof has an undercut surface 62 making an acute angle with the bottom wall. A polymer band 18 having low coefficient of friction is fitted on the peripheral surface of the piston 14. An annular rib fitted in the annular groove 60 is formed on the inner circumferential surface of the band 18. The annular rib is formed by hot-forming a polymer material.
