Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of a piston and eliminate dispersion of cooling effect in respective positions of a piston crown face part. CONSTITUTION:A piston crown face part 13 is provided with an oil flow passage which is formed from an oil inflow port 16 provided on the circumferential edge toward an oil outflow port 17 provided in the center and formed into a spiral passage 18 partitioned so as to be in communication state in the radial direction of piston. The sectional area of the oil flow passage is formed nearly constant, and the sectional form of the flow passage is formed into long form in the axial direction of piston on the circumferential edge of the piston crown face part 13, and following to go the center of the piston crown face part 13 gradually changed into long form in the radial direction of piston. This piston cooling device is constituted so that cooling oil is jetted upward from an oil jet pipe 20 toward the oil inflow port 16 so as to supply the cooling oil in the oil flow passage, and drained from the oil outflow port 17.
