Abstract:
To reduce generation of black smoke and reduce a fuel consumption rate.SOLUTION: A piston for a diesel engine includes a bottom portion having the deepest combustion chamber bottom in a combustion chamber, a peripheral protrusion that is provided along the whole circumference of a peripheral wall between the bottom portion and a top surface of the piston and protrudes toward an intersection P0 of a center line of the piston and the top surface in a sectional view including the center line, an inclined portion inclined to come closer to the top surface toward the outside in the radial direction from the peripheral protrusion, and a rise portion raised from the inclined portion toward the top surface. Representing a shortest distance between the center line and the rise portion as L0, a distance between an intersection point of an extension line of the inclined portion and an extension line of the rise portion, and the top surface as H1, a shortest distance between the intersection point P0 and the peripheral protrusion as L1, and an angle formed between a straight line orthogonal to the center line and the extension line of the inclined portion as A1 in the sectional view, the following conditions (1) and (2) are satisfied, (1) when L0 is 100, L0:H1:L1=100:9±5:83±5, and (2) 20°≤A1≤40°.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
