PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of shortening a pitch time and forming a high-quality ring groove.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for forming a piston 1 of an internal combustion engine, and also a method for forming at least one ring groove 2. In embodiments of this invention, the at least one ring groove 2 is formed with grinding.
