Abstract:

To provide a piston formed of an aluminum alloy composite material which is improved in strength, friction resistance and a high-temperature characteristic not only at an opening of a combustion chamber of the piston but also in the whole of the piston, and can be used as a piston of a high-Pmax adapted diesel engine, an internal combustion engine using the piston, and a manufacturing method of the piston formed of the aluminum alloy composite material.

In the piston 1 formed of the aluminum alloy composite material used in the internal combustion engine, a portion 2a of a mouth of the combustion chamber of the piston of the internal combustion engine is formed of an aluminum alloy in which ceramic particles and ceramic short fibers are dispersed, and a portion other than the mouth is formed of an aluminum alloy in which ceramic particles are dissipated.
