Abstract:
To provide a piston for an internal combustion engine having further improved durability and a method for manufacturing the piston for the internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: In a piston for an internal combustion engine, a piston ring groove is formed on a piston head. The piston ring groove has an anodic oxide coating on the surface thereof, and the anodic oxide coating includes a molybdenum sulfide. The piston for the internal combustion engine can be manufactured by using a method including processes of: preparing a piston base material in which the piston ring groove is formed on the piston head; forming the anodic oxide coating on the piston ring groove; and precipitating the molybdenum sulfide on the anodic oxide coating through secondary electrolysis.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
