PURPOSE: To prevent melting loss of a top land, and the fatigue breakage of a skirt part by forming a piston from the skirt part which has a projection part at the center of the upper surface and is made of working aluminium alloy and the top land which is joined with the upper surface of the skirt part and made of rapidly solidified powder alloy.

CONSTITUTION: A piston 1 is formed by providing with a top land 2, ring area 4 having a ring groove 3, skirt 5, and a pin boss part 6 on the inner surface of the skirt part 5. A circular projection part 9 is formed on the upper surface 8 of the material 7 of a pushing rod made of working aluminium alloy as skirt part 5 or a casted rod, and a recessed part 11 for fitting the projection part 9 is formed on the undersurface of the material 10 of the pushing rod made of the rapidly solidified powder alloy for the top land 2 and ring area 4, and the projection part 9 and the recessed part 11 are fitted to each other.
