Title:
PISTON AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR PISTON
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009002363
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
To provide a piston, in which blow holes to be generated in thick wall portions of a piston is not produced, the piston is highly reliable and the piston is made from an inexpensive aluminum alloy, and also to provide a manufacturing method for a piston.
Raw material of a piston is molded by casting, for example, an aluminum alloy or a magnesium alloy. Then, a thick wall portion of a seal ring groove and a thick wall portion near a ball hole, in which the blow holes are liable to occur, are partially heated (for example, by laser beams, electron beams, arc discharge, or friction) to have no harmful blow holes, and then the seal ring groove and ball hole or the seal ring groove are/is worked to be molded.
