The contact area is arranged in the front end surface (40) of the cylindrically curved piston tip (4). The piston needle (3) with the specially formed piston tip end (4) enables the lens (L) to be securely guided upon injection into the eye and prevents the lens (L) from being stuck inside an injector. Moreover, the piston needle (3) can be manufactured by a simple method.
