Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston ring structure that even when in-cylinder pressure and exhaust gas temperature increase with high supercharging, can surely hold gas sealability to avoid increase of blow-by gas.SOLUTION: For a piston ring structure having a first ring 6 in which one place in a circumferential direction is cut out as an abutment 6a so as to be capable of being externally mounted to an annular groove formed on an upper outer periphery of a piston, at bot end parts facing each other so as to hold the abutment 6a of the first ring 6, a heat insulation layer 14 is formed of a heat insulation material having lower heat conductivity than a base material of the first ring 6 so that at least the facing surfaces at both end parts are covered.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
