Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston ring capable of efficiently releasing heat to a cylinder wall surface even under a severe slide condition, and obtaining high abrasion resistance and aluminum agglutination resistance.SOLUTION: A slide member has: a base material 18 comprising ferrous material; and a hard carbon coating 14 formed on the base material, and whose surface is at least a slide surface. The hard carbon coating does not contain hydrogen, and comprises carbon where sp2 coupling and sp3 coupling coexist. A sp3 coupling ratio out of the sp2 coupling and the sp3 coupling is beyond 60%. Heat conductivity of the base material is equal to or more than 30 W/mK.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
