Abstract:
To provide a piston ring that can be used in a severe environment at a higher temperature where boundary lubrication tends to occur, and is coated with a hard coating having excellent wear resistance, scuff resistance and peel resistance.SOLUTION: A hard coating that coats a peripheral slide surface of a piston ring contains Cr, Cu and N as main components and has 1000 HV0.2 or more of hardness and 2000 MPa or less of compression residual stress.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
