A suction chamber 26 and a discharge chamber 25 are formed between a rear housing 14 and a valve plate 13, and the suction chamber 26 and the discharge chamber 25 are partitioned and defined by a partition wall 14a formed in the rear housing 14. A plurality of cylinder bores 20 are formed in a cylinder block 11 and a discharge port 30 establishing communication between the delivery chamber 25 and the cylinder bore 20 is formed in a valve plate 13. A first gasket G1 is interposed between the valve plate 13 and the cylinder block 11, and a second gasket G2 is interposed between the valve plate 13 and the rear housing 14. Ratio of thickness D of the valve plate 13 to diameter L of the cylinder bore 20 are established to 0.13 - 0.4.
