Abstract:

To provide a piston unit for an automatic transmission reducing stress acting on a bending section for connecting a cylinder section and a connection section of an operating member when connecting frictional connection elements in a simple structure.

A second piston 4 of the automatic transmission 1 is provided with: a piston member 41; and a second oil chamber 40 movable in the axial direction of an input shaft 100, and the piston member 41 is axially moved with pressure of the second oil chamber 40. The piston member 41 has the cylinder section 41a axially extending and transmitting the pressure of the second oil chamber 40, a pushing section 41b radially extending and pushing a second frictional connection element 102, and the connection section 41c connecting the cylinder section 41a and the pushing section 41b and being offset in a direction separating from the second frictional connection element 102 in the axial direction to the pushing section 41b. An amount of offset L1 of the connection section 41c to the pushing section 41b is set up to be larger than a piston stroke ST1 of the piston member 41.
