Abstract:
PURPOSE: To facilitate mounting and dismounting of a cap in a piston to be inserted into a cast cylinder of a die-casting press by providing a notch portion on an inside peripheral surface of a cap as a piston body for receiving inserting projections provided on a periphery of a piston body attaching piece.
CONSTITUTION: A die cast press for extruding liquid metal, such as liquid aluminum, liquid brass, comprises a cast cylinder into which a piston is inserted, wherein the piston comprises an attaching piece 2 and a cap 4 to be fixed to the attaching piece 2 as a piston body. In this case, notch portions 14 are formed at the portions neighboring a free end edge of an inside surface 10 of the cap 4 in order to receive several (for example four) inserting projections 16 formed on a outside surface 18 of the attaching piece 2, so that angular intervals and number of the notches are the same as those of the projections 16. Further, in order to make the insertion of the projections 16 into the notch portions 14 easy, inserting notches 15 are formed between the notch portion 14 at the free end edge of the cap 4.
