Abstract:
A piston (1) for an internal combustion engine has an annular groove (2) for the accommodation of a piston sealing ring (3). A sealing device (4, 5, 6) is arranged in the annular groove (2) between this and the piston sealing ring (3) in order to reduce or prevent any flow around the inside surface of the piston sealing ring (3) in a peripheral direction. The sealing device (4, 5, 6) may be formed by intermeshing projecting parts (6) and ducts (4, 5).
