To provide a pit lid receiving member and a pit forming method capable of simplifying the configuration and increasing versatility and improving the aesthetic appearance after construction.SOLUTION: There is provided a pit lid receiving member 1 for forming a pit with a step for supporting a pit lid covering the floor surface from concrete, comprising a first corner member 2 fixed at a position to be a floor surface and having a first corner portion 5, a second corner member 10 fixed at a predetermined distance downward from the first corner member and having a second corner portion 13, a connecting member 20 that offsets and connects the first corner member and the second corner member so that the second corner portion is horizontally separated from the first corner portion so as to form a step in a cross-sectional view.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
