To intelligibly indicate in a pitch correction apparatus so that a pitch (pitch notation) of corrected output sound or a change to which degree the pitch of the original sound has been corrected can be recognized at a glance.
A pitch of a target to be corrected and a status of pitch correction processing, for example the pitch of detected input sound and a current pitch correction amount in the pitch correction are indicated. The indication of the pitch of the target to be corrected is made by lighting up a key on a keyboard corresponding to each pitch notation. The indication is made so that it gradually increases to the maximum illuminance or gradually decreases to the minimum illuminance with a predetermined time constant when the key is lit or unlit.
