Title:
PITCHING EXERCISING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1147334
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To accurately measure whether a pitched ball is a strike or a ball and the speed of the ball by setting a sensor means including a plural number of transmission units directed to first and second directions at a housing dividing the entering course of the ball so as to process each sensor signal to display the result.

When a pitching exercising person pitches a ball and the ball enters an entering course 11 within a housing 1, a horizontal infrared irradiating unit 21 of a first sensor means 2 senses a position and time in the horizontal direction of the entering point of the ball. On the other hand, a vertical infrared irradiating unit 21 of the first sensor means 2 senses a position and time in the horizontal direction of the entering point of the ball. A computer 4 judges a strike or a ball from these data and calculates the ball speed based on a time difference and a distance between both sensor means 2 and 3 sensed at the same time. Data obtained here is outputted to a display device 5 to display a pitching result and to give information by voice from a voice generator 51.
