Abstract:

To provide a pitching practicing apparatus which enables measuring of the velocity of a ball pitched by a player and accurate judgment of whether the ball is in the course of strike or not while allowing free arrangement of the positions of the catcher's mitt and a batter.

This apparatus is constituted of a buffer body 10 which is installed behind the home base to absorb the impact of a ball, an image device 40 to project an image on the surface of the buffer body 10, an operating part 41 to move or light the image of the image device 40, a photoelectric device 20 to detect the position which the ball pitched passes, a speed gun 16 to measure the velocity of the ball and a display device 30 to display the judgment of the course, strike or ball, obtained by ball passing positions from the photoelectric device 20 and the velocity obtained from the speed gun.
