To provide a pixel circuit and a display panel which compensate current variation due to deterioration of a pixel.
An organic electroluminescence (EL) element 1 emits light according to a driving current from a first driving transistor 2. A data voltage is charged in a holding capacitor 3, and the charged voltage of the holding capacitor 3 is supplied to a gate of the first driving transistor. A second driving transistor causes a charging current to flow to the holding capacitor 3 while the gate receives a voltage Va associated with voltage drop in the organic EL element 1. The data voltage is charged in the holding capacitor 3, and the driving current from the first driving transistor 2 is caused to flow into the organic EL element 1. From that time, a second driving transistor 4 causes the charging current to flow into the holding capacitor 3, and the driving current of the first driving transistor 2 is stopped by charged voltage change of the holding capacitor 3. Thereby, the driving current is supplied to the organic EL element 1 only for a period corresponding to the data voltage and corresponding to the voltage drop of the organic EL element 1.
