To enable to accurately measure a cornea shape based on a placido ring image even when the placido ring image of the shape deviated remarkably from a concentric circle shape is obtained.
The device is equipped with a light source 1 for photographing the placido ring image comprising a plurality of ring-like light sources 2a-2f arranged in a concentric circle shape, a video camera 9 for photographing the projected image of the light on the cornea of an eye to be examined when light irradiates the eye 3 to be examined from the light source for photographing the placido ring image, an A/D conversion part 10, a memory part 12 for storing a digital image data outputted from the A/D conversion part, and a control part 11 which lets one or a plurality of the ring-like light sources of the light source for photographing the placido ring image light, lets the video camera photograph every time the projected image of the light from the ring-like light sources on the cornea of the eye to be examined, and stores the digital image data outputted from the A/D conversion part together with the position information in the concentric circle pattern of the ring-shaped light sources in the memory part.
