Abstract:
To provide a planar illuminating device that can restrain reduction in luminance.SOLUTION: A planar illuminating device according to an embodiment comprises a light guide plate, a plurality of light sources, and a strip-shaped member. The light guide plate emits light incident from a side surface, from one principal surface out of two principal surfaces. The plurality of light sources are arranged opposite to the side surface and along a longitudinal direction of the side surface, and emit light to be incident on the side surface. The strip-shaped member extends in the longitudinal direction, and is bonded to a region on the side of the light sources out of at least one principal surface out of the two principal surfaces. The strip-shaped member includes a non-adhesive part which is arranged at a position opposite to a region located in front of the respective light sources out of the at least one principal surface and which has a non-adhesive property for the light guide plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
