To provide a plane heating type infrared radiation heater which can heat a material to be heated having a wide area to a high temperature without coming into contact with the material and can obtain a uniform temperature distribution in atmosphere as well as in vacuum.
A plane heating type infrared radiation heater comprises a complex type reflection mirror 21 and an infrared ray lamp 3. The complex type reflection mirror 21 is made of a combination consisting of a hollow parabolic mirror 1 and cylindrical mirror 2. The infrared ray lamp 3 is disposed at a focal point of the parabolic mirror 1. Infrared rays are emitted from the infrared ray lamp 3 to a material 4 to be heated. During such a radiation of infrared rays, the complex type reflection mirror 21 covers the infrared ray lamp 3 and the material 4 to be heated. Accordingly, it becomes possible to heat the material 4 to be heated under such a condition.
