To provide a plane light source device, a liquid crystal display and a light diffusion plate, capable of restraining generation of powder due to contact between the diffusion plate and anti-deflection pins.
The liquid crystal display 1 is provided with a backlight (plane light source device) 2, and a liquid crystal panel 3 arranged at a front-face side of the backlight 2. The backlight 2 is equipped with a lamp box 7 with a front-face side open, inside which 7, a plurality of linear light sources 11 and a plurality of anti-deflection pins 14 are arranged. At a front-face side of each linear light source 11, a light diffusion plate 12 formed with propylene resin as a base material is arranged so as to block an opened part of the lamp box 7. Furthermore, a tip of each anti-deflection pin 14 has an outline with a curvature radius R of 0.2 to 1.2. A coefficient of static friction μ between a surface of the light diffusion plate 12 in contact with the anti-deflection pin 14 and a tip of the anti-deflection pin 14 is to be 0.25 or less.
