To measure and mark the plane surface of a ceiling or a wall surface and so forth and especially a high elevation area of the wall surface and to execute definitely with ease by the combination with an existing laser positioning device.
This marking device 1 intended for a wall surface of a structure or a building or the plane of a ceiling or the like is provided with a photoelectric detection means 20 which detects a light beam from a light source spaced a part from the plane. A positioning support means 26 is arranged to work together with the detection means 20, thereby generating a signal which supports a worker who positions the device 1 along the aforesaid plane responding to a detected light beam value. Furthermore, a marking means 19 is provided, thereby marking the aforesaid plane with the marking means while the device 1 is positioned with accuracy.
