Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve the problem that the edge shape of an object 1 to be measured can not be measured when the object 1 is moved, while length and width measurement visual field scanners 2 and 15 perform visual field scanning.
SOLUTION: The image in a lengthwise direction of the object 1 is picked up by two length measurement image pickup devices 3a and 3b through the two length measurement visual field scanners 2a and 2b and the coordinate of the edge in the lengthwise direction of the object 1 is obtained in two edge detectors 4a and 4b from the image pickup data. The speed of the object 1 is found by time differentiating the coordinate data in a time difference device 6, the moving amount of the object 1 is found from the speed in a time integrator 7 and a scanning interval in a widthwise direction is corrected from the moving amount in a length direction time integrator.
