Abstract:
Provided is a technique capable of easily obtaining necessary bearing characteristics even when environmental temperature changes, when coefficients of linear expansion of a carrier and casing are different. The planetary gear device comprises: a casing with an internal gear; an external gear engaged with the internal gear; a carrier disposed on an axial side of the external gear; and a main bearing disposed between the casing and the carrier. The main bearing is a bearing of a type to which a preload is applied. The casing and the carrier are made of materials having different coefficients of linear expansion. In a carrier unit comprising the casing, the carrier and the main bearing, when a load imparted to a rolling member of the main bearing when the casing begins to rotate with respect to the carrier is referred to as a rolling body dynamic load (Fbrg), the carrier unit allows the rolling body dynamic load (Fbrg) to be within a permissible range (Rb) of 3.0 kgf to 25.0 kgf in a temperature range (Ra) of -10°C to 50°C.
