Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain the rigidity of a carrier excellently while suppressing the size-up and weight increase of a carrier and a planetary gear mechanism containing the carrier.SOLUTION: A ravigneaux type planetary gear mechanism 25 including: third and fourth sun gears 23s and 24s; a third ring gear 23r; and a third carrier 23c supporting third and fourth pinion gears 23p and 24p rotatably is formed of a material having a smaller expansion coefficient that of a material forming the third carrier 23c, and includes an annular member 100 press-fit by being press-fixed in a third carrier 23c so that it encloses at least a portion of the periphery of the third carrier 23c.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
