Abstract:
PURPOSE: To lengthen the life-span of a speed reducing gear, by forming the contact (rolling) surface between a planetary roller and outer rings, which are integrated into one body with either one of an output shaft and a casing, into a slightly tapered shape.
CONSTITUTION: A planetary roller 6', which is stepped and is slightly tapered as shown in the illustration, is used. Then, both pressure- and stress-distributions in the axial direction and along the surface between an outer ring 4 or 5 and the planetary roller 6' are unified. At the same time, the stress concentration on the contact surface D (rolling surface) can be eliminated. Thus, a speed reducing gear which has both good wear-resistance and long life-span can be obtained.
