To provide a planographic printing method using a printing press equipped with an automatic winding mechanism and a plate material having a hydrophilic layer high in hydrophilicity to perform printing without generating a stain in printed matter even under a severe printing condition, and capable of achieving the simplification or cost reduction of a plate making process.
The planographic printing method using the printing press has the plate material having a flexible support housed in its plate cylinder in a roll form and supplying the plate material onto the plate cylinder. The plate material has a hydrophilic surface on which a hydrophilic graft polymer chain is present, and an oleophilic image is formed on the hydrophilic surface by transfer printing on the printing press. Repeating printing can be also performed by erasing the image after printing and again forming an image on the plate material from which the image is erased.
