To provide a plant building constructing method for constructing a nuclear power plant building or a thermal power plant building, wherein the method achieves labor saving and time schedule reduction in building skeleton construction and equipment installation work.
According to the method, a necessary number of steel columns are set on an area where the plant building is constructed, almost concurrently with setting of a foundation of the plant building. Each steel column is formed of a vertically extending columnar steel frame, steel plates surrounding the periphery of the columnar steel frame, and receiving portions arranged on the columnar steel frame at predetermined height locations. Thereafter, large equipment is hung, carried in, and installed, and floor modules each being equipped with horizontally extending steel beams and joint structure portions formed on each beam are hung, followed by setting the floor modules at the respective receiving portions by using the joint structure portions of the steel beams. After carry-in and setting of the floor modules, concrete is poured into a gap in the steel column, i.e., a gap defined by the columnar steel frame and the steel plates enclosing the periphery of the same, by making use of the steel plates as a form.
